The Election commission declines to recognize either of the NCP’s faction

Biratnagar, January 25

The Nepal Election Commission has declined to recognize either of the faction of the Nepal Communist party.

The election commission refused to identify the legitimate claims put forward by Oli and Prachand-Madav Nepal led faction since the crisis emerged after the dissolution of the house of representative.

A meeting of commission held on Sunday evening reached the decision to reject the both parties’ claim for authenticity along with the election emblem-the “Sun”. The poll panel stated that both the factions have failed to follow the Politcal Act-2017 and party statute.

Prachanda-Nepal faction had made the decision to elevate Madav Kumar Nepal as chairperson removing the Oli from the position. Further, splinter factions led by Prachand on Sunday have expelled Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli from the Party’s general membership.

The Oli led faction had formed a general convention committee and comprised new members in the committee two times. Both factions had claimed their authenticity in the Election Commission. In contrast to their claims to be legally accepted, the Election commission has refused to accept the assortment.
